Interstate 73 will be built in Virginia and beyond.
That was the overriding message Sunday night during a reception to honor the Virginia Senate Subcommittee for I-73 and the National I-73/74/75 Corridor Association.
A meeting of both groups will be held today at the New College Institute. The subcommittee will begin meeting at 10 a.m., with the association scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
State Sen. Bill Stanley, R-Glade Hill, encouraged local residents and representatives to attend the meeting and support the project during the public comment session. It will follow presentations by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), officials from North and South Carolina, West Virginia and Ohio.
